Hello!
My name is Sarah Via, and I'm an animation generalist and educator. I got my BFA in Story and Concept Development for Animation at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and I'm currently following it up with an MFA in animation and an MA in Visual Effects.
Over the years I've been a peer tutor, created and hosted my own workshops on animation, taught the 2023 Summer Seminar for 2D animation, and was one of 14 students selected to go on the 2023 France Excursion hosted by SCAD.
When I'm offline, I'm usually playing with my dog, Lily, or trying out new recipes for the dinner/book club I host with my friends.
Online, I usually have a couple tabs of Wikipedia open. I love learning new things, and so I often can burn a few hours tunneling a rabbit hole from brood parasitism to smallpox to Rembrandt's greatest works. I love the old masters, and whenever I get art block I beat it by doing a master study (or five).
I'm a huge believer in education and community involvement. I love teaching, and I've been coaching others in some capacity since middle school. Whether it's through tutoring or helping an elderly neighbor clean a hoarding house, I'm always trying to make a positive impact on the people around me.
